The First Nations Fisheries Council of British Columbia (FNFC) is pleased to invite you to our upcoming Fall Assembly, taking place on October 28 & 29, 2025, at the Thunderbird Hall in Campbell River.

This annual gathering brings together First Nations leadership, fisheries technicians, community members, and government partners to engage in important dialogue on fisheries governance, policy updates, and shared priorities for fish and the aquatic ecosystem. Please mark your calendar as you plan for the remainder of 2025.

Hi Prawn Advisory Board,

The next meeting of the Prawn Advisory Board is scheduled for Thursday, October 30, 2025 starting at 9:00 a.m. at the Beban Social Center (2300 Bowen Road) in Nanaimo. This is the annual meeting for pre-planning of the 2026/27 Integrated Fishery Management Plan for Prawn and Shrimp by Trap, including highlights and proposed changes.

Agenda items will focus on decision rules for in-season management actions, fishery time frame and starting dates, measures and mechanisms for timely and accurate data on catch and effort, measures for improved monitoring and enforcement, and initiatives to maintain ecosystem diversity.

Please note that submission of items for discussion related to the topics above are made in the form of written reports provided to me at least 3 weeks ahead of the meeting (i.e. by October 9), for circulation to the members 2 weeks prior to the meeting. Written reports provided to me by PAB member participants, a copy of the presentations, agenda, and other materials will be attached to this invite.
